Comment Sought on Rocket Launches and Pinnipeds
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is seeking comment on: "a request from the Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation (AADC) for Authorization to take by harassment small numbers of pinnipeds incidental to rocket launches from the Kodiak Launch Complex (KLC) on Kodiak Island, AK." Pinnipeds? They want to harass pinnipeds with rockets? You might not care...until you learn that the pinniped they are referring to is the Northern Sea Lion. One of these cute animals. Comments to NOAA are due by December 13, 2004.
