Talent Show Bill
Whereas, the CLASS Advocate program in University Housing has a sincere
commitment towards the implementation of proactive programming both in the
residence halls and in the Athens community, that promotes racial harmony
among the various ethnic groups;
Whereas, SGA applauds all efforts made to achieve a racially harmonious
atmosphere and recognizes that such efforts must receive a broad base of
support to be effective;
Whereas, SGA, realizes that setting a positive example is most helpful
in achieving the afermentioned noble goal;
Therefore Be It Resolved,
SGA will support the CLASS Advocate talent show entitled 'Star Search at
UGA.

SGA's support for this event will be demonstrated through providing a
financial contribution up to $75 to the CLASS Advocate program to help pay
for the sound system equipment that will be used during the event. With this
support SGA will become one of the co-sponsors of this event, responsible only
for the afermentioned financial contribution.
Additional Information
The CLASS Advocate program will be sponsoring its annual CLASS Advocate
week beginning April 17, 1995. This is a campus-wide celebration of racial
harmony and community unity. on April 17, a Talent Show called 'Star Search
at UGAI will be held featuring student and local Athenian youth competing for
a $150 prize (a stipend to buy books). Funds to support this activity must be
raised independently by the ICA' program. Through its support of this event,
SGA will be reaffirming its commitment to racial harmony and community unity.
