STUDENT GOVERNMENT RESOLUTION 7-0;6 GAEA RECYCLING PROGRAM Author: DAVID F. HENSON Sponsor: ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

THE STUDENT SENATE AS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE STUDENT BODY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:

The Student Government Association fully supports cooperating with the University's Greek community in establishing the Gaea Recycling Program, named in honor of the ancient Greek goddess of the earth.


WHEREAS, each Greek organization wishing to participate in the
Gaea Recycling Program shall do so on their OWN CONVICTION.

WHEREAS, each Greek organization wishing to participate in the Gaea Recycling Program shall individually decide which items will be recycled, and the total amount of receptacles necessary.


WHEREAS, the Environmental Affairs Committee, in cooperation with the University's Physical Plant, shall provide the desired recycling receptacles to each participating Greek organization.


WHEREAS, the Environmental Affairs Committee, in cooperation with each participating Greek organization, shall provide a method for collecting, and depositing, items within the recycling receptacles.


THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Student Government Association of the University of Georgia fully supports, and thus endorses, the continued preservation of our natural ecosystem.
