Resolution # 08-04 Author: Will Davis Sponsor: Student Life Committee

THE STUDENT BODY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA THROUGH ITS ELECTED MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:

 Whereas, it has been with great interest that the Student Government Association,
 on behalf of the University of Georgia student body, has been made aware
 of recent changes in the annual Homecoming Activities; and,
 Whereas, this year's All-Campus Homecoming Committee made a good faith but
 reactionary effort to improve the Miss Homecoming pageant by replacing it
 with the Mr. and Ms. Georgia Bulldawg; and,
 Whereas, a long standing tradition of the University, the Miss Homecoming contest,
 was discarded without widespread discussion or debate; and,
 Whereas, the consensus of student opinion seems to have had no urgent cry to
 dismantling the Miss Homecoming tradition-, and,
 Whereas, the Mr. and Mrs. Georgia Bulldawg contest lacked the elegance and
 prestige of a Miss Homecoming contest, therefore:

 (SGA 08-04) BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Student Government Association endorses the reestablishment of the long-standing tradition of the Miss Homecoming Pageant to replace this years attempted Mr. and Ms. Georgia Bulldawg and will work to bring the bear the majority student opinion on the issue to the All-Campus Homecoming Committee.
