 SGA FRESHMAN BOARD SWORN IN
Student Government swore in the members of its newly created Freshman Board at the Senate meeting on Jan. 7, 1996. The fifteen freshman, chosen through interviews from a pool of 75 applicants, will represent freshman views and opinions to the senate.

 The Freshman Board members are Bridgette Bailey, David Battle, Jehan El-Jourbagy, Ashley Fink, Jamie Fulks, Holly Goodings, Thomas Holt-Brasfield, Paul Joiner, Melissa Keeney, Polly Ringo, Jan Robinson, Malika Terry, Alex Vasquez, Colleen Wassell, and Kristina Wrobel. These members will serve until the next board is selected during fall quarter, 1997.

 Election of a board chairperson and secretary will occur at their first meeting on Jan. 16. Meetings will be held weekly to discuss the issues facing freshman and possible solutions through the Student Government Association.

 The Freshman Board was established as means of soliciting the freshman voice that was missing on Student Government following the switch to election of senators by school and colleges, not grade level. Also, SGA hopes the experience will encourage future leadership and campus involvement amongst the new board members.
