The Meeting was called to order at 8:30 p.m.

Senator Todd King introduced the quest speaker, Mr. James Tardy, Director
of UGA Parking Services. Mr. Tardy was followed by Mr. Joe
Broadhurst, who also addressed the University's policy on parking.
A five minute recess was called for by President Howie Manis; the meeting
reconvened at 10:10 p.m.
The minutes of the meeting of April 5 were distributed and approved.
Jay Biles presented the Election Camnittee's report.
Kelly Reeves presented the Bylaws Ccnnittee's report.
William Cantrell presented the Public Relations Committee's report.
Order of Business
President Howie Manis presented seven appeals for eligibility in the
upcoming selections to fill the vacant Senate seats. The candidate's
qualfications were read for approval by the Senate. The first five
appeals were approved upon the first reading. Some questions
arose concerning the sixth appeal, however, it was approved after
discussion.
Due to misplaced paperwork, the last appeal was oral. There was some
controversy over what had actually happened. A discussion followed.
It was moved by Senator William Cantrell "That the oral appeal be accepted
on the condition that a written appeal be re-submitted." Senator
Cantrell also moved that the ensuing vote be recorded. The motion
passed with two votes against (Scott Starling, Dennis Prickett), one
abstention (Carter Sturkie), and all else in favor.
Meeting adjourned 10:40 p.m.
