WHEREAS
the nature of final exams results in a need among
students to maximize study time during the period
preceding exams, and,
WHEREAS
this need is not only hindered by the average amount of
classwork and studying required throughout the quarter but also by
the increased amount of work which accompanies the end of the
quarter crunch, and,
WHEREAS this situation is often further aggravated by faculty who assign
and collect assignments after the last day of scheduled classes.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED
that we, the Student Government
Association of The University of Georgia, strongly
recommended that the Educational Advisory Committee accept the
following proposal as University-wide policy:
Professors may not give any tests, quizzes, etc., or require that
students turn in any assignments during the last three days of class
each quarter. Moreover, professors may not require that
students turn in assignments after the last scheduled day of class.
Other grades, such as those for attendance and participation, may still
be collected.
