SUZY WANTS A FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORE SENATOR INVOLVED IN THIS PROGRAM. HOLLY SAID WE NEED TO GET INVOLVED WITH PUBLICITY FOR THIS PROGRAM. HOLLY SAID ANHEUSER-BUSCH WANTED TO HELP WITH PUBLICITY BY PRINTING CUPS, AND DIFFERENT THINGS WITHOUT PUTTING THEIR NAME ON THEM. ASHLEY WILL GET IN TOUCH WITH THEM.
DUNCAN REPORTED ON HAVING SGA SPONSOR A BAND PLAYING AT THE STADIUM IN THE FALL. HE SAID THAT PLANS WILL NEED TO BE MADE THIS SUMMER IN ORDER FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. HE HAD TALKED TO WILLIAM PERRY ABOUT RESERVED SEATING. HOLLY SAID THAT WILLIAM PERRY WILL WORK ON IT THIS SUMMER. HOLLY SAID THEY WILL NOT GIVE ANY SEATS ON THE GROUND AT THIS TIME. SHE SAID SHE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS DONE BY FALL. THERE IS SOME DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY AND THE BANDS ABOUT WHERE THE PROCEEDS WILL GO. HOLLY DISCUSSED ALTERNATE LOCATIONS FOR A BAND TO PLAY IF SGA IS UNABLE TO GET THE STADIUM, POSSIBLY LEGION FIELD, THE BASEBALL FIELD, OR MOUNT VERNON POLO CLUB. HOLLY SUGGESTED THAT DUNCAN GET IN TOUCH WITH ALLEN GINDER BECAUSE HE WORKED ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS LAST YEAR. HOLLY REPORTED THAT REM HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD PLAY BUT THERE WAS SOME ARGUMENT ABOUT WHERE THE PROCEEDS WOULD GO.
ASHLEY REPORTED THAT BRANCH CARTER WILL PUT UP FOUR SUGGESTION BOXES ON CAMPUS AND WILL PERIODICALLY PICK UP THE SUGGESTIONS.
PETER REPORTED THAT HE AND HEATH GARRETT HAVE A MEETING IN THE POLITICAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT TO DISCUSS SGA SPONSORING AN INTERNSHIP TO REPRESENT US AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE WINTER QUARTER. THIS PERSON WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN TRANSPORTATION; SGA WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PAY FOR THEIR TRAVEL EXPENSES.
WILL REPORTED THAT BLAIR VOLTZ CALLED HIM AND SAID SHE HAD TURNED IN A WRITTEN EXCUSE FOR HER ABSENCE FROM THE RETREAT/MEETING AND SHOULD NOT HAVE AN UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. HOLLY SAID THAT BLAIR SHOULD COME BY AND TALK TO HER BEFORE THE END OF THE QUARTER.
HE ALSO REPORTED THAT ELECTIONS FOR GRADUATE SENATORS ARE VOTED ON BY THE SENATORS. THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS WILL BE SEPTEMBER 22.
DEADLINE FOR FRESHMAN APPLICATIONS WILL BE OCTOBER 11 AND ELECTIONS WILL OCTOBER 17. APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE INFORMATION DESK.
