Those in attendance were John Bradberry, Andy Vanlandingham, Ashley Disque, Jay Gemes, Richard Martin and William Perry.

Absences were: Shawna Hirata and Jeff Hancock.

Ashley reported that a person who tried to use a blue call box on campus had a problem with it. Someone was following this person, she called on the box to report this incident and the person who answered the call said "Hang up, and if they come any closer, call back." It was discussed there was a need to let campus police know of this incident and the way the caller was handled by the person answering the call for help.

SGA toured the campus with police and checked different places for adequate lighting and safety features. The numerous assaults on campus were discussed and what SGA could possibly do to help prevent assaults on students. Basically, it was decided that the students would have to help, by walking with friends. It should be publicized that students, even male students should walk with friends, especially at night.

John announced that SGA T-shirts are ready.

Ashley will be passing around a sign up sheet. She needs everyone to sign up for times to volunteer working at a polling location and to stay after the polls close to count the votes, on Tuesday, October 20th for freshman elections.

Andy discussed the absences at the last Senate Meeting, and the fact that there are senators who are not coming to the meetings. It was discussed what would be considered "excused" and "unexcused" absences. The following senators were absent from the last meeting.
