The Senate meeting is called to order at 8:03.
Under Open Forum, Chris Everett, a candidate for the sophomore
senate seat, introduced herself to the Senate.
Under Roll Call, Senators Jason Williams and Nathan Ballard were
absent.
Under Pre~ident's Rel2!2 , President Bradberry asked that senators
interested in the Registration Oversight Committee, to speak to him after the
meeting. He appointed Chris Grant, Kathryn Smith, and Shawna Hirata to
serve on the Josha Meigs Teaching Award and William Perry, and Noah ??
to serve on the Richard B. Russell Teaching Award. For the Minority
Affairs Committee, John asked that the senate participate in the MLK march
on Thursday Jan. 14. 'Me minority affairs committee will be preparing a
banner for the march.
Under Vice-Presidgnt's Re

po , Vice President Shawna Hirata
welcomed the senate and hoped that the senate would participate more.
Under Pro Tem's Repo , Ashley announced that the sophomore
vacancy elections will be held under New Business.
Under Treasurer's Repo , Hancock reported the current amount of
fund in the travel budget.
Under SecretaEy's Rep!p , Secretary Vanlandingharn announced the
SAC trip on Feb. 6-9, interested senators are to contact him after meeting.
Also announced was the plan for Dr. Knapp to address the senate.
Under Student Life Chai , Jay Gemes announced the progress of the
their proposals. Also announced was the recycling committee meeting Jan.
20, at 8:00 in Myers Hall. Next Tuesday the Student Life Committee will
meet at 6:30.
Due to a late class, Senator Martin was not present to make his report.
Under Internal Affairs, Ashley Disque announced that the next
Internal Affairs meeting would be held at Son's of Italy on Tuesday 19 at
6:30.
Under Students Right's, William Perry announced a meeting on
Thursday at 4:00. Input is needed concerning student representation under
the new constitution. Suggestions for off campus housing ( by district or
zip) and on campus housing senate members will be discussed at the
meeting .
There was no Old Business for the Senate to discuss.
Under New Business:
-Appointment for the Teaching Awards were approved.
