-Election of Sophomore senators: candidates included Jason Bennett,
Brad Cox, and Chris Everett, who spoke before the senate.
-Ashley explained the slating procedure and the questions that were
asked of the candidates.
-Jason Bennett was elected as the Sophomore senator and was sworn
in by President Bradberry.
-Edwina Crump gave a report on the Minority Affairs Committee
meeting at 6:00 in 140 Tate Center on Wednesday. She asked for
participation in the MLK march on Thursday.
Under Announcement :
-Victoria announced a 7:00 General Committee Member meeting on
Wednesday the 13. She also announced the phone-a-thon for the senior class
gift committee.
-Andy announced that T-shirts were available for senators who have
paid but not received them.
-John asked that the Senate wear their SGA T-shirts to MLK march.
-William asked for volunteers for the Miss UGA pageant. on Sunday
at 1:00.
-Senator Martin arrived to present a proposal concerning the order for
registration. The original proposal presented by him wanted freshman to
register before juniors and sophomores. The reasoning for this change was
to give freshman a good start in their academic career. Questions were
raised at the suggestion that freshman receive priority in class registration.
After much discussion, the Bill was amended to maintain the system of
registration as it is. Bill 5-06 was approved.
