Harry is in a division of Student Affairs. They are trying to start a pilot program of students who are interested in making the campus more aware of the diversification we have on campus. Pick up an application and then attend one or two information sessions. The sessions are Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7:00 p.m. in Tate Room 139 and at 6:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall Room 213. In case you can't attend a meeting please contact Harry. There is a steering committee that will elect the pilot students. Once elected you begin a training period on organization and on how to recruit new members. Closed by saying to pick up an application and thank you for your time.
Telvis welcomed everyone back and welcomed students. Asked everyone to look at expectations sheet as he reads it (see attachment). Most run together because they are all commitments that only good working senators can attain. If you have questions please see Telvis. Freshman elections will be October 27th, to give us a chance to prepare applications and get a committee together. Contact senators for information. Appointments for Student Life and Academic Affairs will be done next week. This is to give every senator an opportunity to let Telvis and Ron know of their interest. Telvis then read what the Constitution said about each position. See Article 6, Section 1 a. Wants to make appointment for Miss UGA pageant. Ken Townsend worked over the summer because he had experience and was willing to help.
Ken - Co-chaired it last year. He needs about five to seven people to help. The pageant is January 15 and 16. He would like interested people to meet the middle of next week. Please see him after meeting if interested.
