EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

NOVEMBER 8, 1993


Staff members in attendance were Mr. Tom Cochran, Adam Goldstein, and Miina Shukair.

SGA members present were Telvis Rich, Ron Jones, Jay Gemes, Hope Alexander, Julie Mickle, Kimbley Puckett, Sarah Dick, and Clinton Austin.


The meeting was called to order by Telvis Rich.

The structure for committee meetings was explained: Call to Order, Roll Call, Adjourn to Committees.


Each committee gave reports of issues they will cover at tomorrow nights committee meeting:



There was a long discussion about the Cultural Affairs Input Day, but after some time it was decided to include all committees so that SGA could host a complete Awareness Day. The event will be November 17th and 18th with $75.00 allocated for refreshments.


The event is to be advertised in the Red and Black and Kim Puckett (Cultural Affairs Chair) is spearheading the event. It will be at the Tate Center, although some members of Cultural Affairs will work a table at Boyd Graduate Studies Building. There was talk of forming a constitutional process for obtaining funds for programs - it was given to the Internal Affairs Chair.


The idea of any general member speaking in the meetings was discussed. It was noted by the Vice President, Ron Jones, that this would enhance the growth of the SGA and allow all members to speak freely.


The Freshman Focus handbook will be handled by the freshman senators (6). They will meet with the President, Telvis Rich, tomorrow night at the committee meeting to begin work.


The agenda for the November 9th senate meeting will follow the committee meeting structure:
